NEWS
The Jacksonville Jaguars never really stood in a chance in an embarassing 32-3 loss to the New York Jets.
Quarterback Luke McCown completed just six passes for 59 yards while throwing four to the other team.
The Jaguars have to be really kicking themselves for cutting David Garrard, and it looks like the Blaine Gabbert era could start sooner than anticipated.
Jacksonville obviously never stood a chance because the turnover battle was so lopsided, but they weren’t effective in moving the ball, either. ( Read More…)

The Jacksonville Jaguars pulled one of the surprise moves of the offseason by releasing starting quarterback David Garrard.
Garrard was inside the top 15 when it came to quarterback ratings last year, but his high salary made him expendable.
The team plans to start Luke McCown until rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert can get his feet under him.
The Jaguars pulled off a similar move a few years ago when they suddenly cut loose Byron Leftwich. ( Read More…)

The Jacksonville Jaguars couldn’t overcome a number of injuries in a 34-17 loss to the Houston Texans.
The team knew it would be an uphill battle against the Texans without quarterback David Garrard or running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
Backup Trent Edwards got the start and actually didn’t play all that bad, but he didn’t have much help around him.

The loss of Garrard, despite his sometimes erratic play, is a big hit to the Jaguars and their playoff hopes.
A loss to the Houston Texans would mean elimination from playoff contention, though a Colts victory would also knock them out of postseason play.
Without him under center, Jacksonville will be forced to turn to Trent Edwards, who has regressed over the past couple of years. ( Read More…)

The Jacksonville Jaguars saw their playoff hopes take on more water in a 20-17 overtime loss to the Washington Redskins.
Quarterback David Garrard threw two costly interceptions, with one setting the Redskins up for the game-winning field goal in overtime.
Garrard finished just one passing yard shy of 300 and did throw a touchdown pass. He was also the team’s leading rusher with 39 yards and a touchdown.
In all honesty, you really don’t deserve to reach the postseason if you can’t even beat the struggling Redskins at home. ( Read More…)

The Jacksonville Jaguars saw their rally come up short in a 34-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Jaguars closed to within three points but then watched in a horror as their onside kick was returned for a touchdown.
Jacksonville had to play catch-up all day, and that’s not really a game you want to play with Peyton Manning.
